I'm Senior Research Fellow at the University of Bonn working with the Center for Science and Thought on the project titled Desirable Digitalisation: Rethinking AI for Just and Sustainable Futures.   Additionally, I am co-editor of  the journal 1000-Word Philosophy, a member of the UK SETI Research Network's SETI Post-Detection Hub, and a Science Advisory Board member and Affiliate of the SETI Institute. I am also an Associate Fellow at the Academy of International Affairs in North Rhine-Westphalia, where I received generous support for my project Global Planning for Post-Detection. My current research takes place at the intersection of science, technology, and values, with special attention to issues AI ethics, the ethics of space exploration, astrobiology ethics, and environmental ethics--as well as work in feminist philosophy, global and intergenerational ethics, and public philosophy.  In my free time, I co-host a podcast about storytellers, story lovers, and philosophy.
